Big Names Join The Junior Achievement TCI Sponsor Roster

#TurksandCaicos, November 5, 2021 – Eight corporate giants have pledged support to this year’s Junior Achievement Turks & Caicos Company Program with more businesses knocking at the organization’s door in support of this life-defining initiative.

Following the official relaunch on September 23rd at Grace Bay Club, students enrolled in the program have been placed in the hands of their capable mentors with the excitement quickly building as teams push to get ahead of their competitors.

The flagship Company Program pairs school groups with local businesses whose team members will guide the Achievers through the process of planning, forming, and operating companies that produce a service or product to present to market. The program empowers high schoolers by providing them the practical skills necessary for managing a business venture.

Director Angela Musgrove shared “The response we have received from the corporate community has been truly overwhelming. After matching our schools with sponsors, we found there were even more companies looking to lend a hand. This speaks volumes to us, and we could not be more thankful to these businesses who are willing to share their personnel and resources and pour into the futures of these Junior Achievers. The students are excited, and so is our Board of Directors.”

Once grouped, the teams are provided with education on entrepreneurship, marketing, and financial literacy in a joint forum led by authorities in those respective industries. The groups then begin the work of building their business plans, forming company charters, and electing officers.  The program runs through to February when these fully realized businesses will present final company reports to a panel of esteemed judges.

The students participating in the JA Company Program will surely be set up for success in their future ‘real-world’ business endeavors as exercises in report preparation, public speaking, and salesmanship will help to build their business acuity.

An exciting trade show is scheduled for December 4^th, 2021, when the Achievers will display and sell their wares to the public. The Turks & Caicos community is encouraged to make plans to attend, and to support the students along the way by following their progress on the Junior Achievement TCI social media platforms.
