#TurksandCaicos, April 11, 2023 – If Antwon Walkin was one to watch then Love Joseph  was the  total wildcard that electrified the TCI storming to a third place finish in the 3000m and grabbing the country’s second medal of the CARIFTA 50 Games.

Jubilation was the mood at home and in The Bahamas Sunday Night. Love kept to the middle of the pack over the seven lap, 11-minute race before stretching away from the cluster to claim his bronze medal.

Speaking to media after the race, his message was one of pure gratitude as he thanked “the whole Turks and Caicos” who cheered him on as he ran.

“I want to say thank you to everyone that supported me, thank you to my coaches— I wanna thank my parents who always motivate me throughout this whole CARIFTA they’re always calling to check on me,” he said. Love specifically signaling out his friends: the Bight Ballers.

Love, a student of Louise Garland Thomas High in Long Bay managed to find the TCI delegation who embraced him heartily, the picture of pride in their red and blue shirts.

“We got a lot of love for Love Joseph,” said the TCI Sports Commission which shared photos of the moments Love was medaled and embraced by Turks and Caicos fans in the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium in Nassau, Bahamas.

The TCI now has two medals under its belt as CARIFTA 50 enters its final day of competition.
