#TurksandCaicos, March 12, 2023 –  The annual Wine Cellar Golf and Fishing Tournament is back in all its glory for 2023, lasting from March 9, to March 12, and thousands of dollars are up for grabs.

Now in its 12th year, the tournament will be held at Blue Haven Marina, and is a major sponsor to the Edward Gartland Youth Center.

First prize in the fishing competition is $6,500; second prize is $3,500; and the third prize winner walks away with $2500. But that’s not all! The person with the heaviest fish on day one carries home $2,000, as will the person with the heaviest fish on day two, and the person who catches the largest Tuna and the largest Mahi, respectively.

Organizers of the two-tournament event have made it a point to give back significantly to the community. In the past years, tens of thousands of dollars have been poured into various youth charities courtesy of this sport happening.

In 2018, the Commonwealth Games Association got $7,500, along with $15,000 for CARIFTA TCI and $18,500 for the Youth Center.

In 2019, the Edward Gartland Youth Center and Provo Sailing Academy got $20,000 checks.

In 2020, despite COVID-19, three charities benefited, and $60,000 was split evenly between the Turks and Caicos’s Amateur Athletics Association, Food for Thought TCI, and again the Edward Gartland Youth Center.

Not an angler? Then buy as many raffle tickets as you’d like in support of the fundraiser. Wine Cellar says you could win a spirit of style Tudor watch and a half day trip from PANOPLY.
